Sindhi New Year : Cheti Chand

Lord Jhulelal is worshipped by the Hindu Sindhis as their Isht Deva ( primary deity) .
Pictured here is the murti installed at the Ram Mandir in August 2000.

The marble idol was made in Jaipur, India and brought by Late Mrs. Gita Gidoomal.
Mr. Prem Gidoomal secured the permit from the Social affairs Ministry, Kenya.
Mrs Monica Gokaldas had put up the request at the temple as well at the ministry via Mr. Gidoomal through a letter explaining the significance of Lord Jhulelal to the Sindhi Community.
Since then prayers are held every once a month on the day of “Chand” ( new moon) by the Sindhi ladies.
