पूछो न  न पूछो तुम मुझसे  मेरे दुखों का कारण सह न सकूँगी  और तुम्हें कुछ कह न सकूँगी  बस ख़ामोश निगाहों से दर्दे दिल को बयॉं करूँगी  पाक आफ़ताब की ओढ़े आबरू  ज़मीन में ही गढ़ सी जाऊँगी  होंठ सीये भी एक अरसा हो चला लफ़्ज़ों ने कब का साथ छोड़ दिया  बस ये ऑंखें हैं जो दर्पण बन मन का कह जाती हैं जो कहना  ही न था  जी रही हूँ बोझ लिए दिल पर डरती हूँ … बाँध टूट न जाए अब सब्र का बिखर न जाए ज़ख़्मी जिगर बह न जाए नयनों से धार चुप हूँ  फिर भी कोलाहल है डर है कहीं फट ही न पड़े दुखती हर नफ़्स जो दबाए हूँ  सिकीलधी
