Reiki for the trees and for nature in The Karura Forest, Nairobi, Kenya.

I am very happy to share a seva that Kenya Members Monica, Shariffa, Mamta Shalini, Anuradha, Deepu, Bubbles, Abhilasha, Sarika, and I, Kamal, did at the Karura Forest on 8^th May, 2025

We started with Mamta’s lovely guided meditation of connecting with the elements inside us and outside us in Nature.

Next, we did another silent seva activity of connecting with Goddess of the Forests, Van Devi, received energy from her, and gave back to the trees in equal measure. Monica has recorded all the steps as I explained them to the group. You can, if you wish, listen to the recording and follow it anywhere in the world where you have a froest / trees.

After that we went to the Amani Garden, where a tree has been planted for every victim of the terrorist attack at the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi. It was a bit of an emotional time for us, because some of us knew some of the victims. We chanted the Shanti Path, (Peace Path), and then walked around, blessing each tree with Aum Shanti and Reiki, and gave collecting healing to all the names on the board.

Then a few of us went to bless a stream with water that we had blessed with Reiki and Positive thoughts, while the rest of us remained behind to sing the Niravana Shatakam for the liberation of the souls.

The much awaited day for our healing meeting was finally here and Indra devta as well as Surya Devta were merciful to gift us a bright sunny day. We chose our ‘spot’ in the forest by finding a comfortable place to sit and meditate surrounded by trees and birds and bees.

The meditation led by Mamta was very comforting and balancing and it felt great to be in sync with the Five Elements and charge our energies. Mamta’s sweet voice felt very heavenly at times.

The activity of connecting with Vandevi through the trees and the forest was a very fulfilling one. As Kamal started explaining the steps of the activity I had goosebumps at the mention of Vandevi and almost immediately felt her presence around me.

The energy circuit activity was enhanced by Vandevi’s presence and I felt lot of movement around me and heard like the sound of anklets with tiny ghunghroos. I assumed that it must be Kamal moving around taking pictures but later when she shared the pictures I realized she hadn’t come that close to me at all. After listening to her recording now I know that it was perhaps Vandevi and her movement around and this makes me feel all the more blessed. My gratitude for today’s Vandevi experience.

Visiting the Westgate victims’ memorial area was an emotional experience as I touched many trees, gave them healing extending the healing to the souls of the victims and silently did Ho’oponopono to them. This is a time when my emotions are of grief after the terrorist attack in Kashmir and the actions being taken by the two countries connected with it, and then recollection of memories of Westgate attack was bound to make us emotional.

On the whole a very fulfilling morning with Nature, in meditative healing atmosphere though I felt saddened by the loss of trees in the forest and I asked forgiveness from the stumps left behind after felling of several trees.
