The story of Ishwar continues in bits and below is a letter written to Ishwar Panjabi’s daughter Monica by Lord Rami Ranger who acknowledges the presence of Ishwar in his life as a blessing.
Dear Monica,
Your dad was the epitome of kindness and generosity. He was a true face of God, who only did good for others. His parents appropriately gave him the name ‘Ishwar’ and he always behaved like one throughout his life. They say if you come across a noble soul, it transforms your life and that is exactly what happened to me after I met your dad.
He was so kind and humble which reflected his inner beauty. He treated everyone like his family. I remember when I met him first time in a Cash and Carry where he was buying stock for the new business he had started in Kenya. I was hired to ship those goods to Mombasa. I offered to give him a lift to his hotel. The manager of Cash & Carry, Mr. Mohan Khurana was with me. As we dropped your father off at the hotel, he insisted that we come upstairs to his room. He gave us chairs in his suite. He opened the fridge made us drinks and gave us some snacks. We couldn’t believe how a big businessman was behaving in such a humble manner.
I visited him a couple of times in his hotel and every time he treated me with kindness and also inspired me to do better in life. The motivation I got from your Dad made me start the export business which is now the only export company in the UK which has won an unprecedented Five Consecutive Queens Awards for Enterprise. The business is now in 130 countries and doing well. All because of the blessing of your late father.
It is a tragedy he was taken away from us so early in life when there was so much more for him to give. However, his memory is always with us and a source of inspiration and guidance.
He had a particular love for his younger brother, Jacky. He couldn’t stop talking about the affection he had for his brother, Jacky whom he considered as his son. Whenever we met he always mentioned fondly something or the other about Jacky. When we visited Ishwar Ji in Nairobi, he treated us like Royalty for the two days we were with him. He took us to every special place himself and also took us to the best restaurant in Nairobi. He gave us the most wonderful hospitality we could ever imagine. Such was the nature of your late father. We miss him and pray that he continues to guide and inspire us.

The selfless ones inspire others to success together hand in hand unlike the selfish ones that just promote themselves and leave no stone unturned in pulling others down to the lowest possible. Ishwar was clearly the ‘Ishwara’ for not just Lord Rami but for many others that came on his path of life. He lived in acceptance and gratitude of the Divine Will without harming others on his path.
Sikiladi.
