Growing up in a Sindhi family making pickles was something we were quite used to. My grand mother whom we called Amma was known for her expertise at making pickles and placing them in the porcelain jars.
We even had a small cupboard specially for keeping various types of achar in the dining room. That cupboard had a net door to allow airing of the jars. Above recipe is one taken from her several years ago in an effort to carry forward her recipes as family lineage. Even today when I make it, this pickle turns out quite tasty though it cannot be compared with her expertise at achar making.
