Vishwa Hindi Divas 2023

The International Hindi Language Day 2023 was marked by the High Commission of India in Nairobi, Kenya with a simple, less ritualistic ceremony on January 10th at the Apa Pant Auditorium. The High Commission had invited Kenbharti to plan a performance to honor the day.

Kenbharti, an organization that promotes and helps preserve the Hindi language has been encouraging the spoken and written Hindi works over the years and has often participated in the Hindi Day celebrations via various activities. Kenbharti Chairman, Mr. Abhijeet Gupta in turn invited a group of 8 poets that presented self composed poetry in Hindi o the stage after the official lighting of the lamp was done by the Indian High Commissioner, Namgya Khampa. and the founder of Kenbharti group, Dr. Abhay Sinha.

The High Commissioner also shared her thoughts about the day being marked and read out the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi Ji’s speech ref the Hindi Divas that was spoken out by him at the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas celebration being held in Indore, India at the time.

Half way during the poetic renditions from the renowned poets the High Commission played an audio visual recording of Mr. Narendra Modi Ji’s speech at the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas that showed his lighter side along with his commitments and pride at the Nation.

The High Commission very graciously honored the poets by presenting traditional West Indian Shawls and souvenirs and thereafter served a sumptuous dinner for all the performing team, the staff and the invited guests.
