From wheelchair to airplane: ( a healer’s diary)

It was a random call from an unknown UK number. I answered and the lady on the other end was requesting reiki healing for her 95 year old mother S.A.( those are her initials)

I agreed to do it but it wasn’t possible to do it till the following week. Meanwhile she came along with her sister to attend the talk about Forgiveness that I was conducting at a venue on April 18th, 2024. We met and agreed to give a complimentary healing session to their mother on the 22nd of April.

The patient whom I chose to address as Mama turned out to be a very sweet mother figure. I noticed her arms were severely bruised due to frequent blood samples been taken. She was in lot of pain and quite immobile. Due to her inability to get out of bed on her own and to go to the toilet she had to start using the adult diapers and felt very unclean with that. This had been preventing her from using her ‘tasbih’ in the evenings and I was told she had always taken lot of pride in her cleanliness and hygiene. Needless to add that she was now a frustrated old woman and I had a challenge in front of me.

The first session of reiki had gone well and mama was appreciative as well as hopeful. We agreed that I would send her distant healing everyday and once a week give her a hands on healing therapy. We agreed on a suitable time when I would send reiki and she would either sit on her wheelchair or stay in bed to receive it. Thankfully this worked very well for her and within two days she had calmed down considerably. She started doing her ‘Tasbih’ in the evenings and was more accepting of her treatment and general movements that the family and staff made her do.

Within a week the report was that the pain had reduced in intensity, she had stopped being aggressive with her staff, started following the advised diet peacefully. These were big changes as the family was less stressed and able to focus better on their other responsibilities. Gradually she consented to physiotherapy and had a few sessions but that would result in the pain rising.

By the sixth week of Reiki treatment she was moving herself in the bed and showed me how she could do it comfortably. The swelling on her feet was still pretty bad but had reduced from what it was to begin with. The bruises on arms had faded and she was a cheerful person giving me loads of dua ( blessings). She asked me what my religion was and laughed when I replied, “reiki”. She went to the salon to get her hair done, had her manicure done and even though her feet were swollen she ensured her toe nails were painted as well. She started going to the mosque and also invited visitors home.

My gratitude knows no bounds as I saw her recovery from broken ribs, backache, immobility, frustration and anger to a person who was looking forward to travel to London with her daughter. As I completed giving her reiki treatments till 02/06/24 I am aware she’s now in London and wishes for me to continue with the healing. She told me she’s going to miss me and the physical reiki sessions.

The daughter speaks of her gratitude about her mother’s reiki treatment 22/04/24

I wanted to share my mothers experiences and progress during the time that Monica has been working with her on Reiki healing.
With 5 fractured  ribs, mum was in a lot of pain, and although the doctors prescribed good  medication for Pain control, due to other complications, mum was not able to take the very strong pain killers.
The pain made her despondent.
After the first session of Reiki, the pain was better. Mum was more positive and within 5 weeks of working with Reiki mum was very positive and soon stopped using the wheelchair and even went to the hairdresser.
She started normal activities.
What we thought would take 3 months to heal took 7 weeks.
She is very positive and her quality of life has improved so well.
She trusts Monica fully and the power of Reiki.
We are always grateful for this positive treatment.
