Christmas Tree
He decorated his tree 🌲
His favorite Christmas Tree
He bought it fresh and new
As per tradition of each year
He had plans to do it better…
Than the every other past year
He left her alone to buy on his own
For she mattered not much to him
He had turned his emotions to stone
And become vindictive to the bone
Just because she had her desires
Just like every other girl that aspires
He understood her not
He heard her voice not
His ears were deaf to her tone
And eyes blinded with dislikes overgrown
He bought the ornaments a plenty
To adorn the tree with her, no one was ready
His kith and kin all conspired
Of her well being not ever enquired
She sat to hang the trinkets and tinsels
The stars🌟 the lights and christingles
He was satisfied or not
He expressed it not
For the distance and depression was obvious
Yet she continued holding some hope
The 🌲 tree of hope might grow taller
But he turned stingy with dime and dollar
The Christmas wasn’t as wished by both
Yet here they are
He with his own new tree
And she with her own old tree
For she chose her peace to stay in her piece
She placed no gifts for him under her tree
He placed no gifts for her under his tree
Deep within both hoped they could alter the distance
And have their own, very own Christmas Tree
The one they could adorn and embellish together
And place the gifts for each other
They wished to become the Santa for each other
And gift abundant joys in their lives
They wished their Christmas tree to be abundant
The tree of hope in time of despair
The tree of joys in time of sorrow
The tree of life shooting buds of life
The tree that will be in their own house

Thank you Priti. Sometimes relationships find solace in the rituals and try to find their niche in them.
