Reiki at Faraja Cancer Support Centre ( from the archives)
Following surgery for breast cancer, i was referred to the new cancer centre for 6 weeks of radiotherapy treatment. On my first visit to the Cancer Care, I was introduced to the support centre above the main treatment centre.
Several alternative therapies to cnacer patients (were offered) , amongst which is an option of Reiki. Early on in my treatment I was lucky enough to be able to partake in a session of Reiki, and from then on tried to book a session every week. It helped me a lot to have the wonderful support and healing of the Reiki Group (Lotus Healing Seva Group). I always looked forward to my sessions. It was a great comfort to me to know that I could have help with my healing and to receive energy through the hands of the Reiki practitioners who were kind enough to help me along my journey.
Thank you all, and I truly appreciate the healing I received, it really kept me going.

Has the reiki been helpful? In what way? Would it help with pain?

From my years of experience with cancer affected- yes, it does help.
Reiki drives a positive healing energy towards the patient’s well being- pain reduces, stress reduces, sleep and diet patterns benefit thus the person feels more relaxed.
When a person is less stressed the overall healing happens and the medication works better too.
