A usual day on my seva Rota turned special, thanks to the feedback by young student volunteers.
It was a cold Nairobi morning and I reached Faraja Cancer Support Center to give reiki therapy to Cancer patients. As I reached earlier than my scheduled time I decided to use my time giving a reiki therapy session to one of the volunteers working there.
Maryline is a young 21 year old student from the University of Nairobi. She seemed excited about reiki as she hadn’t ever heard about it. After preliminary explanation my colleague Shariffa and I started with the session.
Maryline was soaking in the healing energies so well that she fell asleep during the healing and continued sleeping for nearly an hour after the 40 minute session. Her feedback was very encouraging and re strengthened my stand about Reiki.
She felt very relaxed and calm and mentioned that the stress she had before the session had turned to be a positive affirmation as she felt that her situation could be addressed better.
After having giving Reiki to the patients we got opportunity to give healing to another young volunteer who is a High School student. Like Maryline, Kyla too hadn’t heard about Reiki so I explained it to her.
She felt her stiff back beginning to loosen up and was in immense gratitude for the healing received.
Sharing below is the feedback shared by the two students.
