Talents of Children with Albinism showcased!

The event Children with Albinism and their stories, organized by HCK, in collaboration with Dr. Choksey’s Albinism Foundation, was an enchanting event that celebrated the remarkable talents and inspiring stories of children with Albinism.
The event was a captivating and inspiring talent show and a Fashion show that showcased the remarkable abilities and stories of children with Albinism. Held on 15th July 2023 at HCK, this event aimed to provide a platform for these extraordinary children to showcase their talents, share their personal experiences, and promote understanding and acceptance within the community.
The event was graced by Chairperson of IRCK Father Joseph Mutie along with Lady Justice Mumbi Ngugi and Mr. Amardeep Singh Manager Bank of Baroda Diamond Plaza along with other guests.
The event began with Diya lighting, prayers and followed by a warm welcome address by the Chairlady of HCK, Mrs. Sujata Kotamraju, who expressed her gratitude to all the attendees, participants, and organizers for joining hands to celebrate the unique talents of children with Albinism. She emphasized the importance of inclusivity and the need to create an environment where every child, regardless of their physical differences, can thrive and shine. She also acknowledged and applauded Dr. Choksey and her foundation for their exceptional dedication and contributions.
The event was skillfully hosted by MC Mrs.Satrupa Banerjee, who ensured a smooth flow throughout the evening. Satrupa’s engaging and heartfelt introductions created an atmosphere of

excitement and anticipation, setting the stage for the captivating performances to come.
Before the talent show commenced, the Director of HCK Women’s Wing, Mrs. Shveta Bhalla, provided a brief overview of Dr. Choksey’s Albinism Foundation. She highlighted the foundation’s mission to raise awareness about albinism, support individuals with the condition, and advocate for equal opportunities and rights. Shveta Bhalla commended the foundation’s efforts in empowering children with albinism and fostering inclusivity within society.
Dr. Prabha Choksey , who is a renowned ophthalmologist, the founder of Dr. Choksey’s Albinism Foundation, delivered an inspiring speech, sharing the journey of the foundation and its continuous efforts in supporting children with albinism. She recounted how the foundation began with a vision to create a better future for individuals with Albinism and the challenges they faced along the way. Dr. Choksey emphasized the importance of education and how the foundation has been providing educational support to children with Albinism, enabling them to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
The talent show was the highlight of the event, featuring a series of captivating performances by children with albinism. The participants showcased their diverse talents, including music, dance, and poetry, leaving the audience awe-inspired by their passion, skill, and dedication.
Interspersed among the performances were the children’s personal stories, shared with bravery and vulnerability. These personal narratives touched the hearts of the audience and created a deep sense of empathy, fostering a greater

understanding of the experiences faced by children with albinism and also how the foundation has helped the children.
The children entertained everyone with an amazing Fashion show followed by a beautiful Poem by Mrs. Monica Gokaldas.
The talent show left a lasting impact on all those in attendance. It not only celebrated the talents of children with albinism but also provided a platform for them to share their stories, thereby promoting acceptance and understanding. The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of creating an inclusive society that appreciates and supports individuals with diverse abilities.
This widespread outreach helped raise awareness about albinism and the valuable work undertaken by Dr. Choksey’s Albinism Foundation, inspiring others to become more involved in supporting individuals with the condition.
